McPherson College’s men’s soccer team has had trouble this season scoring goals, but that wasn’t the case here Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs rang the bell five times in a 5-0 blasting of Southwestern.
Brent Mulford came up with a hat trick for the Bulldogs, while Jared Klentz and Ramsey Khalidi also scored. Geverton Ost had a pair of assists.
Mac had a whopping 26-9 advantage in shots. Blake Jett had seven saves for the Bulldogs.
The defending KCAC champs are now 5-3 in the KCAC and 8-7-1 overall.
MAC WOMEN 1, SOUTHWESTERN 0 -- It took 97 minutes and 50 seconds, but the Bulldogs finally were able to shake pesky Southwestern.
Stachea Pachea’s goal in overtime enabled Mac to escape a Moundbuilder team that is now 0-7 in the KCAC, 1-14-1 overall.
Mac moved to 4-3-1 in the KCAC and is now at the .500 mark overall at 7-7-2.
It was a frustrating game for the Bulldogs, who dominated the action by firing off 29 shots to just five for the Builders.
Danielle Carr had 14 saves for Southwestern, while Tori Verdeick picked up the shutout in goal for Mac.
Both Mac teams close out the regular season Saturday at Kansas Wesleyan.
