Don Mossman, 85, of McPherson and formerly of El Dorado, died Nov. 22, 2010, in McPherson. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Don was born May 23, 1925, in Rosalia, the son of Harry Baxter and Hattie Waldorf Mossman. He graduated from  El Dorado High School. He joined the Merchant Marines during WW II. He also served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army. After returning from service he became a farmer and stockman.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of the Elks Lodge. Surviving family include one son, Brent and wife Carla Mossman of McPherson; daughter Mitzi and Scott Firebaugh of Olathe; a sister Margaret Bassett of Valley Springs, Calif.; two grandchildren, Preston and Sydney Mossman of McPherson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jo Call, in 2003 and brothers Jim and Keith Mossman.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers to have donations sent to the Buckner Scholarship Fund at Butler County Community College. Share in memory of Don at
