McPherson/New Gottland services:
This year's Memorial Day service will begin at 9 a.m. at the New Gottland cemetery and at 10:30 a.m. at the McPherson cemetery. The Youth Pipe and Drum will provide music. Eric Rauh, American Legion commander will emcee the programs with invocations by Rev. Terry Post. VFW Post #2715 will provide a Color Guard and the Rifle Detail. Other Color Guards will be provided by American Legion Post #24, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of American Legion. Mark Casebeer will play Taps at the New Gottland service and Matthew Bishop will play Taps at McPherson Cemetery. The public is encouraged to attend.
The Windom Booster Club will hold its annual Memorial Day program at the Windom Cemetery at 9 a.m. Monday. The guest speaker will be Senator Jay Emler of Lindsborg. Following the service, coffee will be served at the Windom Senior Center. Anita Jost will be the master of ceremonies and the Little River American Legion will perform the salute to the flags and the salute to the dead.
Inman Memorial Day services will be held at the North Inman Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday. The service is sponsored by the Inman Area Veterans Association.
The speaker will be Steve Buller with the Inman Veterans Association.
The 85th annual Memorial Day flag raising ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Riverview Estates and will continue to the Lutheran Cemetery at 10 a.m., the Excelsior Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. and the Freemount Cemetery at 11 a.m.
Members of the Edith B. Hokanson Post 253 Marquette American Legion will conduct the flag raising duties at each stop.
Memorial Day services will be held at the Bean Memorial Cemetery in Little River starting at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Marck Cobb will be the keynote speaker. The Little River American Legion will conduct the color guard and flag detail. Refreshments will follow at the Little River Senior Center.
