Red Barn Studio, 212 S. Main St., Lindsborg,  will be presenting Bill Rutherford a resident of Wichita, April 1 through 8 as the artist-in-residence.
Rutherford a sculptor, has been an active force in the art world of Wichita. His structures recapture the spirit of a family home or business, or preserve in a small way a property whose fate would have been a wrecking ball. The architectural works have been rendered in scales ranging from a quarter of an inch to the foot to the popular one half of an inch to the foot with some larger works featuring interiors.
Rutherford uses information at hand to create his sculptures, working from photography, measurements and architectural drawings.
During his residency, he will be working on a new flying machine and exhibiting some “crazy pieces” and a structure portraying a beach front home on Roatan, Honduras, that he saw in 1994, “palm trees and all.”
