Jerry Lee Johnson, 71, of McPherson, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, while in the company of family members at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

Jerry was born in Little River June 5, 1943, a son of Florence Irene (Corwin) and Eben Johnson.

Through the years, Jerry attended Roxbury Grade School, Marquette High School, and graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1961.

He was a member of New Gottland Lutheran Church, McPherson.

Jerry started working for Frank Black Pipe and Supply Company out of high school and recently retired from the company as General Manager.

Jerry loved to buy and trade cars, work on projects around the house, growing roses, play bingo, and he also loved to be on the road and travel.

On March 6, 1970, Jerry L. Johnson was united in marriage to Jane A. Bartel at the Buhler Mennonite Church, Buhler.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Johnson, of McPherson; his sons, Justin Johnson and his wife Elizabeth of Austin, Texas, and Jeremy Johnson of Covington, Kentucky; his brothers Douglas Johnson and his wife Mary, of McPherson, and Thomas Johnson and his wife Beverly, of McPherson; his two grandchildren, twins Iris and Theodore Johnson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, March 27, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m., at Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson.

The funeral service will be held at New Gottland Lutheran Church, 1822 17th Avenue, rural McPherson, at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 with Reverend Harry Grinstad officiating.

The final resting place will be at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural McPherson.
