Easter is just around the corner and communities in McPherson County have planned their community events. In addition to the many different Easter services churchs are holding (See page A8 for details on services), communties have organized community celebrations and hunts:
1. Annual McPherson Optimist Easter Egg Hunt
Each year the McPherson Optimist Club holds an Easter egg hunt for children ages 0 to 8. The hunt will be at 11 a.m. April 4, at Lakeside Park. No registration is necessary, although the race will start right at 11 a.m. Participants should meet at the Lakeside park Bandshell.
2. Annual Marquette Egg Hunt
The Marquette Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Annual Marquette Community Egg Hunt. Starting at 10:30 a.m. April 4, at the American Legion Hall, the hunt is for children ages infant through fourth grade. The Easter Bunny will hand out numbered eggs at the Legion. Children then hunt the windows of the businesses in downtown Marquette to find the number corresponding with the number on their egg(s) to receive prizes. Bring an Easter basket and don't be late.
3. Inman Recreational Easter Egg Hunt
The Inman Wellness Center will be hosting a community hunt at 11 a.m. April 4, at the Wellness Center, 404 S. Main St., Inman. Bring the family for Easter fun, sign up to win prizes and then send the kids out to hunt for eggs filled with goodies. Hunt is for children ages preschool to sixth grade. There will be a special egg with a special prize inside.
4. Lindsborg Community Hunt
A community hunt will be held at noon April 4 at Swensson Park. The Easter Bunny will drop by to see the kiddos as well. The hunt is for children 10 years old and under. This event is free and registration is necessary.
5. Moundridge Community Easter Celebration
Pine Village will be sponsoring a community Easter Celebration beginning at 9 a.m. April 4 at Pine Village, 86 22nd Avenue, Moundridge. Easter egg hunts will be held for children 0 to 4 years old at 9:30 a.m., children 5 to 9 years old at 10 a.m. and children 10 to 12 years old at 10:30 a.m. There will also be prizes, hotdogs and popcorn.
