Local CKYRA participants score 19 gold medals

CANTON, Kansas – The 2025 season is over for the Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association (CKYRA) as they finished up with a pair of rodeo events the weekend of Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 where McPherson County participants scored 19 first-place finishes in individual events. Leading the way through the final weekend was Wesley Prieb of Moundridge and Ansleigh Hogg of Canton.

Area rodeo athletes win one overall, six individual events

CANTON, Kansas – After the finish of fifth weekend rodeo event for the 2025 rodeo season, the Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association released the listing of the All-Around standings as well as the standings per event where McPherson County was well represented. In the overall standings after the five weekend rodeo events, Wesley Prieb of Moundridge took top spot in the 5-8 boys division, scoring 408.00 points total.
