The hottest softball team in class 4A maintained that title heading into the final week of the regular season, as the McPherson Lady Pups took down their eighth and ninth upper-class opponents of the year by defeating Junction City and Newton on Friday.

A happy ending to the regular season and senior night faded over the final 10 seconds for the McPherson High School girls soccer team Monday night in their 2-1 loss to Wichita Trinity Academy, but plenty of soccer lies ahead of the Lady Pups with postseason up next. McPherson entered Monday night’s regular season finale having won four straight games and seven of their past eight, with the latest being a dominant 8-0 win over Wichita Classical on Thursday, May 8.
NEWTON, Kansas – One last regular season dip in the pool for the McPherson High School girls swim team took place on Thursday, May 8 in Newton, as the Lady Pups took second place ahead of next week’s AVCTL meet.

A team that is winners of two of the past three class 4A state baseball titles is threatening to make postseason noise once again, as the McPherson Bullpups swept a quad on Friday to reach 20 wins for a fourth consecutive season.
