MCPHERSON – Although a large portion of the sporting community in McPherson may be focused on the high school’s state semifinal run in football, the middle school’s basketball season has gotten underway and the Lady Pups have navigated their way to a perfect record in the early stages of the season.
COTTONWOOD FALL – If you like offensive football than the slugfest Friday at Cottonwood Falls between Little River and Chase County was your kind of game as the Redskins pulled out a 48-40 win to earn a spot in the 8-Man Division I state semifinals.

MCPHERSON – The temperature continues to go down and Bullpup wins continue to go up, as McPherson defeated Circle 49-28 in the state football quarterfinals Friday night at McPherson stadium behind a pick-six and a strong second half performance. The final score of Friday night’s sectional game was a bit misleading, as McPherson trailed the upstart Thunderbirds 20-7 late in the second quarter.
MCPHERSON – It was the start of a new era on Wednesday, as five different McPherson High School athletes signed their letter of intent at the high school’s Signing Day event inside the little theater to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.
