MOUNDRIDGE – Despite having the ball on offense for less time than the visitors at home on Friday, Moundridge managed to still score a convincing 52-12 victory over Herington. The win to complete the 2022 regular season part of their schedule gives the Wildcats a 5-3 mark as they begin a run to the 8-Man Division I championship on Thursday when they host Central High out of Burden.
MCPHERSON – It wasn’t a perfect regional race for the McPherson Bullpup cross country teams, but it was good enough, as the boys team qualified for state for a second consecutive year and the girls team sent three individual runners to state as well.
LITTLE RIVER – Little River used a huge second quarter on Friday to score a 46-point, 6014 home field win over Goessel. With the victory, the Redskins close out the regular schedule portion of 2022 with a 7-1 record having won seven games in a row since the opening weekend loss to Canton/ Galva.
Morris (MOE) Eugene Mills passed away Saturday October 22, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas surrounded by his family. Morris was born in Russell, Kansas on February 12, 1952, the son of Mildred (McCord) Mills and Melvin Mills.

Larry Lee McMillan, 82, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away October 23, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born April 20, 1940, in Hutchinson, the son of Ralph “Si” and Pearl Hazel Corwin McMillan.
On Oct. 20, Moundridge High School students went out into the community and assisted local businesses and residents on various projects from painting to cleaning for the Moundridge High School Community Work Day.
DEAR DR. ROACH: I recently had a health scare about my prostate, but fortunately, I was able to get it treated successfully. Because of my close call (I was diagnosed with a moderately aggressive prostate cancer and was apparently cured by surgery), I encourage my male friends to seek medical advice for prostate issues. But one friend seems cynical and reluctant to seek medical advice. Without being too pushy, how do I convince him it’s in his own best interest to see a doctor? -- A.M.
