Homer Eugene “Gene” Copeland, 96, of McPherson, KS, died Oct. 17, 2022.
Loren Lewis Stubby, 85, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:00 a.m, Friday, October 14th, 2022 at his residence. Loren was born in Hillsboro, Kansas on May 29, 1937, a son of Edna (Unruh) Stubby and Jacob Stubby.
Ralph H. Herrold, 82, passed away on October 9, 2022, in Leawood, KS. He was born in McPherson, KS to JB and Erma Herrold and is preceded in death by his wife Jackie. He is survived by children Jack and Deidra, daughter in law Michelle and grandchildren Nick, Eleanor and Claire. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on October 24 at the McPherson KS Church of Christ.
The month of October is Principal Appreciation month for the education system in Kansas. Throughout the month, the McPherson Sentinel will be giving recognition to principals and other leaders from different towns throughout McPherson County. ww Today we have two spotlights: From St. Joseph Catholic School, Principal Peggy Bahr and from Washington Elementary School, Principal Jill Beam. Both Principal Bahr and Principal Beam have served their schools in McPherson for over a decade.
