Little River Buries Herington in 48-0 Homecoming Win

LITTLE RIVER – Celebrating their 2022 homecoming the right way, the Little River football team buried visiting Herington on Friday with a 48-0 shutout victory. Now 5-1 for the season, the Redskins are ranked number four in 8-Man Division I as they prep for a road trip to Pretty Prairie on Friday.

Wildcats Hold on for 42-34 Win

SOLOMON – Bouncing back from a loss to Little River, the Moundridge football team went on the road Friday to Solomon and earned a hard fought, 42-34 victory over a feisty Gorilla team. The Wildcats jumped out early for a first quarter 14-0 lead as Lane Durst returned the first of his two interceptions 60 yards for a score while Henry Hecox scampered 63 yards for a second score later in the stanza.

Successful opening night for “The Odd Couple”

Thursday was opening night for the McPherson Community Theatre’s performance of Neil Simon’s 1965 classic comedy, “The Odd Couple” at the Historic McPherson Opera House. The last production will be this afternoon at 2 p.m. and there is a general admission, so tickets can be purchased at the box office at arrival.

Doile gets 500th win in triangular sweep

MCPHERSON – Tuesday night was more than the first sweep of the season for the McPherson High School volleyball team. Instead, it served as more of celebration as Bullpups head coach Christy Doile picked up her 500th career victory on senior night in the Roundhouse.

Smoky Valley Runners Take 1st, 2nd at Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH – On Tuesday, the Smoky Valley cross country team went to Ellsworth and brought home a team championship for the Lady Vikings while the Viking boys took second. In the girls division, the Lady Vikings totaled 30 points from their top five runners to win the team championship by 23 points over second-place Minneapolis.
