Eagles Shutout Norwich 46-0

NORWICH – The Canton/ Galva football team, currently ranked number two in 8-Man Division II, pitched a shutout on Friday on the road at Norwich, winning 46-0. Still unbeaten at 4-0, the Eagles will be back at home on Friday when they host Fairfield.

Redskins Roll Past Solomon 56-6

LITTLE RIVER – The Little River football team only needed half as many offensive plays to dominate and roll past Solomon at home on Friday, winning 56-6. Little River had just 25 snaps on offense to roll up 317 yards in total offense while Solomon ran 48 offensive plays but gained just 147 yards and one score.

Lady Viking Volleyball Goes 2-2 on the Road

LINDSBORG – The Smoky Valley volleyball team has spent the past week on the road, with matches in Ellinwood and Cheney, where they scored a pair of victories as well as a pair of losses. Currently ranked number ten in Class 3A, the Lady Vikings are now 16-6 for the season with a road trip scheduled on Tuesday, September 27 at Haven for a triangular with Haven and Larned.

Fort Hays State University 2022 media tour

McPherson was the second stop for Fort Hays State University President, Tisa Mason on her annual media tour. Through Sept. 30, Mason will be traveling to towns in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska promoting FHSU and providing contacts of field experts and information to a variety of media outlets.

Going low: Golf team shows early improvement

MCPHERSON – It hasn’t taken long for the Lady Pups golf team to find their footing off the tee, as McPherson High School has taken second place in two out of their last three tournaments, which is a season best for the first-year team.

#1 Ranked Andale Rolls Smoky Valley 57-8

ANDALE – Smoky Valley went to Andale on Friday and found out quickly why they are ranked number one in Class 3A as the Vikings got beat 57-8. Now 2-2 for the season, the Vikings will look to bounce back with a win on Friday when they play host to Cheney who will come into the game 3-1 for the season after thumping Pratt 43-21 this past Friday.
