JUNCTION CITY, Kansas – In a highly anticipated 4A versus 6A football matchup, McPherson High school barked at Junction City in the first half, but the Blue Jays flew away from the Bullpups in the second half in a 30-15 win for Junction City.
MCPHERSON – Turkey Creek Golf Course’s parking lot held a few more cars than usual at 1:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon and it wasn’t because of an overbooking for tee times. Instead, it was the cars of spectators and family to support the first of many girls golf tournaments hosted by the McPherson High School girls golf team.
BUHLER, Kansas – Playing in windy conditions for the first time this season may not be the most ideal situation,but a new-look varsity lineup for the McPherson High School girls tennis team fought through the adversity and finished tied for third in Buhler Thursday afternoon.
LITTLE RIVER – The Little River volleyball, now ranked number two in Class 1A Division I, continued to win with a championship trophy at the Centre Invitational followed by a home victory over Elyria Christian on Tuesday.
INMAN – The Inman volleyball team continues to have a strong season as they find themselves ranked number four in Class 2A and runners-up at a tough tournament in Haven before hammering Hutchinson Trinity at home on Tuesday.
Every year, the Kansas State of Department Education recognizes exceptional first years of teaching in elementary and secondary classrooms in the state. To be eligible for the award, according to the Kansas State of Department Education, teachers must have successfully completed their first year of teaching the year prior and have performed in a way that distinguishes themselves outstanding.
On Sept. 14 there was a Chrysanthemum delivery at the Windom Greenhouse in Windom, Kans., and the sale was put on by teachers and staff of Windom Elementary School. Grade schoolers helped unload the truck so that those who ordered the mums could pick them up later in the afternoon.

ELYRIA – The Elyria Christian volleyball team has made the top-ten of the Kansas Volleyball Associations (KVA) latest poll for Class 1A Division II schools as the Lady Eagles were ranked number eight with their 8-3 mark for the season.
