City meets over Lakeside Park tree dilemma

MCPHERSON – The city of McPherson and the trees within Lakeside Park are facing a tough decision, as the city is weighing the possibility of beginning construction on a new retaining wall lining the Lakeside waterway that could potentially take out trees in the process.

Buller, Shober stay steady for Inman

INMAN, Kansas – Successful may be an understatement when talking about the Inman High School football program’s 12-1 record and state runner- up finish last season. Although a good portion of that success came from players like graduated fouryear quarterback starter Jace Doerksen, the Teutons have also found steady success from the likes of defensive back Josiah Fuller and Inside linebacker Samuel Shober.

Smoky Valley Girls Tennis Open Season at Hesston

HESSTON – The Smoky Valley girls tennis team made their 2022 season debut on Wednesday by taking third at the Hesston Invitational. With 18 team points, the Lady Vikings placed third behind invitational champion McPherson who had 25 points and runner-up Buhler with 21.

USDA invests in Kansas communities

MCPHERSON – In an attempt to help promote emergency preparedness and clean energy, the United States Department of Agriculture has invested $639,854 in 15 communities across rural Kansas. The large investment will help the construction of critical infrastructures in the 15 Kansas communities to help reduce and save energy, and one of the communities chosen was Lindsborg.
