MCPHERSON – The fast and the furious has made its way from California to McPherson, Kansas as the highly regarded auto restoration program at McPherson College acquired a new car to work on for its students last Friday during a surprise ceremony. This car is a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, which is a two-seat grand tourer.
HERINGTON – On Friday at a rescheduled track/field meet in Herington, the Little River boys dominated their field while the Little River girls managed to finish third despite missing five of the top athletes.
MCPHERSON – Traditions are something that many people and communities build their way of life around. For people, some basic traditions include brushing before bed or celebrating a birthday each year. For communities, it may be a routine sporting event or a yearly gathering. McPherson County has a yearly tradition of their own, but it has been lost the last few years – until now.
MCPHERSON – McPherson High School senior Wesley Wurm has gotten used to the word “one” being associated with his name. The latest association has come in the form of being awarded and selected as a participant of the 39th Annual Governor’s Scholars Awards Program.
TOPEKA, Kansas — Rob and Carla Ingraham believed their grandchildren lived in danger. They complained to Kansas child protection authorities, figuring that would keep the grandchildren in the Ingrahams’ home — state-sanctioned foster care often granted to relatives.
HESSTON – On Friday, in around weather, the Smoky Valley track/ field teams competed in the Hesston Invitational and came home with a team championship for the girls while the boys placed fourth overall.
MCPHERSON – The second half of the soccer season has proved to do wonders for the McPherson Bullpups. After a slow start to the season turned into a team gelling and finding its chemistry at the right time, McPherson has reeled off six straight wins, including a 3-1 win over Rose Hill on Monday night.
BROOKVILLE – Due to weather the Little River baseball team had to wait a few extra days to go on the road to battle Ell-Saline, but Kaden Schafer led the Redskins by going 7-for-8 in two games with four home runs in leading them to a 22-5 and 16-4 doubleheader sweep.
LYONS – A native of Little River is in the running to be governor of Kansas with hopes of powerlifting his way to Topeka as a third-party candidate. Seth Cordell grew up in Little River and eventually landed in Lyons, Kansas where he is a Chiropractor alongside his wife Teresa at the Cordell Chiropractic Clinic while also competing in strong man and powerlifting competitions.
