Depth, perseverance guide McPherson High soccer

MCPHERSON – For the third time this season, the McPherson High School girls soccer team has found themselves battling through a three-game week and each time the results have slowly got better. The first time the Bullpups had a three-game week they came away with a 1-2 record, the second they went 1-1-1, but this week, however, McPherson went a perfect 3-0.

Redskins Drop Two to Marion

MARION – Beating the weather on Tuesday, Little River baseball traveled to Marion and lost both ends of a doubleheader, 6-4 and 9-3. The two losses dropped the Redskins to 13-5 as they get ready to close out the 2022 regular season schedule with a pair of doubleheaders on Friday at Ell-Saline before hosting Ellinwood on Tuesday.

Inman Sweeps Moundridge Invitational

MOUNDRIDGE – In the cool weather of Tuesday, the Inman boys and girls track/field teams were running hot as they both won their meets at the 12-team Moundridge Invitational. For the Teuton boys, they rolled up 164 points to finish well ahead of runner-up and host Moundridge who had 98.

Bullpups pitching staff fuels triangular sweep

MCPHERSON – Adapting is something that all teams and athletes have to grow accustomed to throughout their sporting career. This spring, however, the adapting has came in the form of having to adapt to mother nature. Once more on Tuesday, the McPherson High School baseball team adapted to the curveball that mother nature threw as McPherson swept a triangular with Dodge City and Campus.

Redskins Finish 1st, 2nd at Lyons

LYONS – On Tuesday, the Little River track/ field teams traveled to Lyons and despite the cool weather, Treyton Olander and Braxton Lafferty led the Redskin boys to a team title while the Lady Redskins took second at the nine-team Lyons Invitational.

Shober and Mikulecky lead Teutons to sweep over Bennington in Slugfest

INMAN – The Inman baseball team closed out the month of April by winning both ends of a doubleheader at home with Bennington on Friday, winning 13-12 and 24-15. In game one the Teutons scored twice in the first to lead 2-1 before Bennington put five runs on the board in the third and four in the fourth and while Inman matched it with three in each of the same innings, they still trailed 10-8 going into the sixth.
