After prostate cancer treatment, prognosis remains good

DEAR DR. ROACH: I am 68 and have prostate cancer. I had PSAs, an MRI and a biopsy. My Gleason score was a high 7. No genetic testing as I can recall. My urologist said I had “upper moderate” cancer and that I could remove my prostate or do radiation therapy. I underwent three months of radiation treatment from September to November 2020. I’ve done three PSA tests since the radiation. All have been very low and, per my doc, good.

McPherson High School wrangles in Davison as new wrestling coach

MCPHERSON – At the end of the last wrestling season, veteran McPherson High School wrestling coach Doug Kretzer announced his retirement at the conclusion of the season, which left McPherson searching for its first wrestling coach in more than 20 years. The search and wait for that new coach is over, as the Bullpups announced the coaching hire of Mike Davison on Tuesday, April 12th.

TOWANDA, Kansas – The McPherson High School boys tennis team has had the unfortunate luxury of battling through winds in nearly every start this season but, even through the winds, the varsity team has managed at least a top three finish in every event. Thursday’s quad meet at Circle High School was more of the same as McPherson took home first place.

Relaxed play leads to soccer success for girls soccer

SALINA, Kansas – Expectations were high for the McPherson High School soccer team at the start of the season, and they were ranked No. 2 in class 4A-1A. Although the Bullpups like the high expectations and the eyes on their team, it may have led to a tense start to their season.

Teutons dominate Burrton meet

BURRTON – It was big day Tuesday for both the Inman boys and girls track/field teams as they both recorded big dominating wins at the six-team Burrton Invitational. With the Lady Teutons rolling up 132 team points, they easily outdistanced second-place Sterling by 20 points while Hutchinson Central Christian finished a distant third with 93.

WEATHER AFFECTS CANTON/ GALVA TRACK AT MOUNDRIDGE

MOUNDRIDGE – With winds causing issues on Tuesday, the Canton/Galva track/field teams still managed to find some successes at the six-team Moundridge track meet with the Eagles earning a pair of gold medals among nine total medal wins.
