SALINA, Kansas – In yet another regular season rematch, the seventh-seeded McPherson boys basketball team was defeated once again by third-seeded Andale in the 4A state semifinals on Friday at Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
SALINA -- What do you get when the two best defensive teams in Class 4A meet each other in the first round of the KSHSAA State Championship Tournament? You get a tough, physical, and bruising game that ends in a Wellington 33-29 victory over McPherson.
MOUNDRIDGE – In 2021 the Moundridge softball team came up one game short of reaching the state tournament, so 2022 will be looking to make that trip under the leadership of a new coach. Lynn Eichelberger has taken over as the head coach of the Lady Wildcat softball program after spending three seasons as the assistant and she is hopeful in bringing some more success to the Moundridge diamond.
LINDSBORG – For the spring of 2022, the Smoky Valley track team will be seeking to continue the successes of 2021 that included four gold medals for the Lady Redskins, a Class 3A Girls State Championship, and Viking head coach Jay Myers being named the 2021 Track/ Field Coach of the Year.

PRATT – There’s just something about March when you combine basketball with it. The stakes become higher, games get interesting, and the under dogs always play like they got nothing to lose.
BURRTON – Waiting an extra day for their sub-state championship game due to a large wildland fire near Burrton, the Little River boys were still hoping to find success only to be denied by sub-state top-seed Macksville, losing on Sunday by 17, 68-51.
