TOPEKA — Veterinarian Anna Hickert found a home in central Kansas under a program at Kansas State University allowing graduates to work off college loans in exchange for serving in a rural community starved for big-animal vets.

SALINA, Kansas – On Saturday, McPherson’s Treyton Pelnar placed fifth in the 126-pound class of the KSHSAA 4A state wrestling tournament in Salina to record a season record of 36-9. Pelnar won his first two bouts in Friday’s action then lost in the semifinals.
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Davion Warren and 12th-ranked Texas Tech had a perfect ending at home. Warren’s 23 points included the go-ahead basket with 1:05 left, and the Red Raiders finished undefeated on their home court with a 73-68 win over Kansas State in a back-and-forth game Monday night.
