TOPEKA — Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease led to rancher Charles Imthurn’s placement in a Kansas assisted living facility and it was dementia that prompted his involuntary discharge. Imthurn’s wife, Rachel, said the facility providing care for her husband and five other Alzheimer’s patients with issues related to memory, thinking and behavior decided without warning to get out of that line of business.

LITTLE RIVER – In a battle of former rivals, Little River played host Friday to Canton/Galva and managed to finish off the evening with two wins as the Lady Redskins dominated the Lady Eagles while the Redskin boys rallied in the fourth quarter to earn their win.
GOESEEL – For the second time this week the Elyria Christian basketball teams went on the road Friday and came home with a clean sweep as the Eagle boys hung on to beat Goessel by six while the Lady Eagles buried the home team by 40.
