KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the better part of a decade, the drinking water supply for a small southwest Kansas town was almost constantly contaminated with unsafe levels of radium, a radioactive element that can cause cancer.
The American Legion Boys State of Kansas has begun taking registrations for the 2022 session. The event takes place on Sunday, June 5 through 11 at Kansas State University in Manhattan.

The Kansas Supreme Court reversed a a Johnson County District Court decision that had found Senate Bill 40, which relates to emergency powers, to be “unenforceable.” Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said the court’s decision brings clarity to the issue. “[Friday’s] decision provides welcome clarity that the district court erred by going out of its way to ask and then answer questions not before it about the constitutionality of SB 40,” Schmidt said.

ANDOVER, Kansas – When McPherson High School swimming head coach Matt Cotton’s team arrived at Andover’s brand new Aquatics Center on Saturday, they were missing a junior and three seniors. However, instead of using it as an excuse, Cotton saw it as an opportunity for both his team and himself.
The Kansas City Chiefs did what they had to Saturday, beating the Broncos on the road to finish up the regular season. Too bad the Titans did what they had to Sunday, too.
