The McPherson County Humane Society (MCHS) takes in cats and kittens from strays to those whose owners can no longer keep them. The organization does its best not to turn any away, so the shelter gets a little crowded at times. The shelter limit is 50-55 cats, and they are at capacity according to McPherson County Humane Society Director Erin Eskildsen.

McPherson County Community Foundation (MCCF) has been out in the community too, working to collect ideas, priorities, and information about our communities.
