WICHITA, Kansas – Every year, the biggest high school track and field meet in America closes the sports season for high schools across Kansas as the McPherson girls took fifth place and the McPherson boys took 13th place at the historic meet.
DaVon Glen Knackstedt Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on May 20, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to parents Delmer and Glennys (Joan) Knackstedt (deceased) of Windom, Kansas on April 18, 1952.
C. Michael Welch, 82, of McPherson, KS, died May 26, 2023.
Every year, Kansas has two free fishing days: traditionally the first full weekend in June. The dates for 2023 are June 3 and 4.

Applications for the Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program will be available starting on Thursday, June 1st from 9:00 a.m. at the McPherson County Council on Aging located at 926 N. Main St. in McPherson. Seniors may apply on-site from 9:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
