Travel, whether for business or pleasure, is an important part of people’s lives. As concerns grow about the use of fossil fuels, climate change and the impact people have on the environment, more travelers are trying to make low-impact choices.

Razak is a lifelong teacher

Sarah Razak, a fourthgrade teacher at Washington Elementary, has always loved learning and teaching others. An educator of 21 years, Razak was fortunate to have great educators throughout her lifetime.

Engel says goodbye

May 31st is the end of an era for McPherson Main Street. Ann Engel became McPherson Main Street Director in March 2008 and is retiring at the end of the month.

Kyle Nathan Buller was born January 12, 1978, at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge, KS, with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida and entered his Eternal Home after a courageous battle with cancer April 26, 2023. Kyle spent his lifetime being more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus, emphasizing what he could do instead of what he could not do.

McPherson College honors alumni

The McPherson College Citation of Merit award recipients for 2023 are Dwight Oltman ’58 (posthumously), Zane Smith ’66, and Garold Minns ’73. These recipients exemplify the college’s mission of Service, Scholarship, and Participation through their lifelong commitment to the values they developed as students at McPherson College.

Street Closures for All Schools Day Parade

On Friday, May 12, 2023, McPherson County will be celebrating All Schools Day in McPherson, with a parade. The parade will start at 10:30 am, but the roads will be closed on and around Main Street starting at 6:00 am. Vehicles parked in these areas will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense, prior to the start of the parade. Do not drive around the barricades that are set up to close off these areas.
