Roosevelt Bears win 2023 Battle of the Books

The McPherson elementary school fifth graders competed in the Annual Battle of the Books on April 20 at McPherson Middle School. Parents, teachers, and students from each of the district elementary schools cheered on their representatives as they battled it out in book trivia.

Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Old Mill at Millfest May 6

With 2023 marking 125 years since the construction of the Smoky Valley Roller Mills in 1898, this year’s annual Millfest on May 6 is looking to be the best it’s ever been. Held the first Saturday every May, Millfest is the one time every year that the Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum turns on the antique machinery across the four floors of the mill and opens it up for guided tours.

Wes Miller, owner of Illumicast, shared about his family-owned and operated business out of Hutchinson at the Chamber Connection on April 20. Illumicast specializes in installing egress windows and pre-cast concrete window wells.
