Lady Pups surge into postseason

The phrase “home sweet home” looked slightly different for the McPherson High School volleyball team over the past week and a half, but the Lady Pups came away with a second-place finish at their home invite two weekends ago before sweeping a senior night triangular and a road triangular at Winfield. Although McPherson’s typical home venue at the McPherson High School Roundhouse is still under repairs following flooding back in June, the Lady Pups have still produced a formidable homecourt advantage – even in enemy territory.

Rust & Dust brings grit, heart, and horsepower to McPherson

On October 18, the Pist 'N Broke Car Community and Three Rings Brewery teamed up to host the Rust & Dust Show, a celebration of motorized creativity, community connection, and old-school charm. With a full day of food trucks, custom-builds, cigars ,and whiskey, and a John Wayne movie to close the night, the event drew a crowd that came for the cars and stayed for the stories.

Second-quarter surge leads Wildcats past Marion

MOUNDRIDGE, Kansas – Getting by without one of the top players on the team at one of the most important positions on the team is never an easy task, but the Moundridge High School football team has accomplished that feat as the Wildcats improved to 5-1 Friday night with a 28-12 win over Marion. Two weeks ago in Moundridge’s 49-6 win over Herington, star quarterback and safety Kaizer Kanitz sustained a knee injury that has since kept him on the sideline.

KBI raids yield hundreds of pounds of marijuana, thousands of joints, vapes and edibles

TOPEKA — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation seized hundreds of pounds of marijuana and tens of thousands of pre-rolled joints, THC vapes and edibles during raids last week at 18 retail stores across Kansas. KBI director Tony Mattivi and Attorney General Kris Kobach announced the raids while the first wave were in progress during a news conference with reporters in Topeka.
