WASHINGTON — In a summer of drought, smoke and haze, wildfires could flare up in unusual locations in the United States over the next few months — including New England and the Midwest, according to federal forecasters.
Cities and towns across the country commemorate special days with various festivities, particularly when warm weather beckons people outdoors. Fireworks long have been a popular way to cap off parades, concerts, sporting events, and national days of celebration.
INMAN - The Country Cousins 4-H Club’s annual club member farm tour and meeting with pizza was held on Sunday, June 4, 2023. The farm tour started at Evan Sawyer’s house where he showed the club his bucket calf, KJ. Then the club went to Dane and Veda Ayers’ house where Dane showed the club his plants, quail, and chickens. Then at Stockton and Thane Foster’s house Thane showed everybody his calf, Disney, and Stockton showed everybody his dirt bike. Next at the Reiff ’s house AJ showed the club her pigs, Macy showed the club her steers, then Laney and Nora showed the group their goats. For the final stop on the tour, Addison Wedel showed the club her dog and her sheep.
McPherson Community Theatre presents “Oklahoma!” June 16, 17, 23, & 24 at 7:30 PM and June 18 & 25 at 2:00 PM at the McPherson Opera House. In a western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story.
Chris Goodson and Karolyn Moore with the McPherson Housing Coalition (MHC) presented commissioners with the economic impact statement for the Coalition. MHC adds approximately 3 million dollars to the county economy per year.
