The Miracle Worker of Sterling High School Theatre

The Sterling High School Theatre spring play is The Miracle Worker centering on the real-life story of teacher Annie Sullivan and her pupil Helen Keller. The show centers on the miracle of reaching blind, deaf Helen and breaking through to connect her to the world. But there will be another “miracle worker” being celebrated as well Sterling High School theatre director Betsy Dutton, who has similarly used theatre to help her students connect to the world.

Moundridge City Council Meeting

On March 13, Moundridge held their Regular City Council meeting. Mayor Kevin Schmidt, President Kent Winsky, and Council Members Ryan Durst, Kirk Stucky, and Wayne Fisher were present. Jeremy Moore attended the meeting remotely. City Administrator Murray McGee was also in attendance.

Auditions for Summer Musical

This year, McPherson Community Theatre (MCT) will be performing “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!” as their summer musical. They will be holding auditions for all roles March 25th from 10-4 and March 26th from 1-4 at Central Christian College’s Wesley Black fine arts center, 1200 S Main Street, McPherson. Community members age 14 and up are encouraged to audition.

A Gathering for Gardeners

A day filled with free gardening information for homeowners and gardeners has been scheduled for Saturday, March 11th. The Hutchinson Horticulture Club organizes and sponsors this event as their educational project for the community. It is being held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 407 East 12th just west of the Cosmosphere. After not holding a Gathering for the past 2 years, the Club is pleased to host the event this year. This would have been the 34th year for this annual event.
