When summer heats up, the McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation offers families a fun and free way to cool down indoors. They can also learn something new while they’re at it.

The 200 block of East Euclid Street came alive Friday evening as families gathered for McPherson’s annual Fireworks with a Fireman event. Hosted in collaboration with Hopp’s Sno Shack, the evening offered a lively mix of summer fun and essential fire safety education.

New playground brings shade, turf, and smiles
Playhouse Kids Childcare has transformed its outdoor space with the help of a $10,000 grant from the McPherson County Community Foundation. The updates include a permanent shade structure and a large turf pad, both designed to make outdoor play safer, cleaner, and more comfortable for the children.

Kettle Queens tour
The Moundridge Kettle Queens FCE unit travelled to Maxwell Game Preserve on June 10. Once there they boarded the tram to go out to watch the bison herd.

Kettle Queens teach about feeding the brain
On June 11 the Moundridge Kettle Queens FCE unit went to the Pine Village Wellness Center in Moundridge to play games with the residents. This is part of the program that teaches people about the need for nourishing our brains by eating healthy.

Dacus Auto Body wins Mega Match Award
Dacus Auto Body has been named the winner of the 2024 Mega Match Award by United Way of McPherson County. This award goes to the company with the highest percentage of employee donations matched during the annual United Way fundraising campaign.
