Fireworks with a Fireman promotes safety while having fun

A popular McPherson event, Fireworks with a Fireman was held Thursday evening with a large crowd of children and their families gathering in the 200 block of East Euclid Street. The yearly event, held in conjunction with Hopp’s Sno Shack and Concerts for a Cause, raises awareness of fire safety through instruction in the use of fire detectors and fire extinguishers, as well as through training in the safe use of fireworks and a fire demonstration by the McPherson Fire Department.

Mastermind McPherson County Summit scheduled

Summer is a great time in Kansas. As Kansans we can get out, take walks, play ball, spend time with friends and neighbors and find out what’s been going on. McPherson County Community Foundation (MCCF) has been out in the community too, working to collect ideas, priorities, and information about our communities. Starting in March we began a campaign to solicit opinions and priorities from our county and communities; Inman, Canton, Marquette just to name a few.
