Zoë McHenry, a senior at McPherson High School hosted a reception on March 16 for her art exhibit at the McPherson Public Library. What made the reception even more special is that it was held on McHenry’s 18th birthday that only close friends and family knew about.

The Inman Scholarship Foundation is seeking applicants for the Agatha Smyers Scholarship for a student who is interested in the service industry, which could include: educators, clergy, social services, registered nursing, physical therapy, physicians or dentists. The scholarship will be awarded based upon achievement in college, financial need, potential to make an impact on others and involvement in leadership and community service.
During the Public Input Session at the McPherson City Commission Meeting March 21, McPherson resident Dennis Houghton said he has noticed a decline or decay of the city streets in the past ten years. “I don’t think that we’ve really done the job that we should be doing as far as the maintenance of sealing cracks and potholes,” Houghton said.
