On Nov. 1, U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (Kansas) took a tour of Plastics Extrusion Machinery LLC (PEM) in McPherson to find out if there is anything he can do to help the business continue to flourish. Moran met the PEM President/CEO, plus other directors, engineers, office staff and talked to as many of the workers behind the scenes of PEM that he could, getting to know where the workers were from and where they went to technical school.
The Bethany College Choir will be hosting a Hymn Sing-A-Thon on Nov. 11, 2022, to raise funds for their choir tour to Europe in the spring of 2023. The choir will sing hymns from the Lutheran Book of Worship in the Pearson Chapel inside the Mabee Welcome Center on the Bethany College Campus.

The band Hyway 14 played at the Little River Fall Festival on Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The band covered 90’s rock and red dirt country and even performed some of their original music in front of the Peoples Bank and Trust in Little River, Kans.
A reception was held on Oct. 27 in the Grand Ballroom of the McPherson Opera House for the new McPherson Opera House Executive Director, Karissa Hoffman.
Music by the Mill on October 22 well exceeded its fundraising goal and brought in a crowd of more than 60 people to enjoy a concert from Old Man Lingonberry and food from La Jefa Mexicana. Between direct freewill donations, new annual memberships, and gift shop sales, about $1,300 came into Lindsborg Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum in Lindsborg from the event.
The Halloween Carnival on Oct. 27 had a huge turnout from community members and their children following the Trick ‘R’ Treat Main Street. The tickets were 50 cents each to participate in the games or two tickets for a canned food item.
