Kansas Independent College Association today released the results of a study that estimates the impact of McPherson College on the statewide economy to be $44.1 million. McPherson College President Michael Schneider said, “Our faculty and staff are committed to our mission and the success of our students, it’s why we have been recognized as a ‘Great College to Work For’ for the last eight years.
The month of October is Principal Appreciation Month for the education system in Kansas. Throughout the month, the McPherson Sentinel has given a spotlight to principals from different towns throughout McPherson County. For the last principal spotlight this month, we will be recognizing Windom Elementary School Principal Jon Paden.
Thursday, the McPherson Optimist Club hosted the weekly Chamber Connection at the Community Building to give a sneak peek of the setup for the Halloween Carnival later that evening and to share about the Optimist Club and their fundraisers for the youth of McPherson County. The study was conducted by Parker Philips, a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in economic impact analysis.
Early morning on Oct. 22, a family of six in Lindsborg Kans., woke up to their house on fire. Escaping through a bedroom window, the family had to leave their dogs and belongings inside. Mika and Challenge Crawford and their four sons are currently staying at Mika’s parents’ house in Lindsborg.
