The Halloween Carnival is back

McPherson Optimist Club carrying on Halloween Carnival legacy Those who have attended the traditional Halloween Carnival in the past know that Beta Sigma Phi used to run the Halloween Carnival for decades. Now, after about three years of not having it due to the pandemic, the carnival is back and now in the hands of the McPherson Optimist Club.

Moundridge High School choir members selected to perform with Hesston College Bel Canto Singers

On Thursday, Oct. 6, members of the Moundridge High School choir collaborated with the Hesston College Bel Canto Singers and trained professional opera singer, Dr. Carren Moham. Moundridge High School Choir instructor Dan Chisham and Dr. Russell Adrian, Director of Choral Activities at Hesston College shared how this happened.

Governor Updates Declaration of Drought Emergency, Warnings and Watches for Kansas Counties

Governor Laura Kelly has approved updated drought declarations for Kansas counties with Executive Order #22-08. This drought declaration continues to keep all 105 Kansas counties either in watch, warning or emergency status. McPherson County remains in a state of drought emergency according to the report.
