Kelly uses veto authority to reject infectious disease, Medicaid and election bills

Gov. Laura Kelly signed a bill allowing autonomous vehicles to operate on Kansas roads and vetoed legislation restricting public health officials’ response to all infectious disease outbreaks, a mandate imposing a no-bid contract for Medicaid services and limitations on the executive branch’s enforcement of election law.

New United Way Executive Director

These last few weeks have really flown by. I’ve been enjoying my job as Executive Director for the United Way of McPherson County for almost a month, and I realized that I haven’t introduced myself to the wider community. My intent today is to share with you a little about me. Now, being from Western Kansas the idea of talking about myself (or writing) makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

MCPHERSON – When someone associates the two words “basketball” and “Kansas” together, the attention and focus is immediately directed to the excellence and tradition that is found at the University of Kansas. However, if people were to dig a little bit deeper into the state of Kansas they would find another basketball-rich community that is home to a school with a winning tradition of its own. That school would be the McPherson High School Bullpups.
