McGee Looks to Sustain and Grow the Moundridge Community

(Our series of “Profiles of McPherson County Business Leaders” highlights Murray McGee) MOUNDRIDGE – We look to introduce you to our latest ‘Profile of McPherson County Business Leaders’ with a look at the City Administrator for Moundridge, Murray McGee, a man who strives daily to sustain the community while looking for ways to help it continue to grow towards the future. Murray McGee has worked with for the City of Moundridge since September of 2015 when he became their Economic Development Director and Chamber of Commerce Director, a position he held until being appointed Interim City Administrator in August of 2020 and permanent City Administrator as of January 1, 2021.

Back in style: All Schools Week makes reappearance for the county

MCPHERSON – Traditions are something that many people and communities build their way of life around. For people, some basic traditions include brushing before bed or celebrating a birthday each year. For communities, it may be a routine sporting event or a yearly gathering. McPherson County has a yearly tradition of their own, but it has been lost the last few years – until now.

Little River Native Running for Governor

LYONS – A native of Little River is in the running to be governor of Kansas with hopes of powerlifting his way to Topeka as a third-party candidate. Seth Cordell grew up in Little River and eventually landed in Lyons, Kansas where he is a Chiropractor alongside his wife Teresa at the Cordell Chiropractic Clinic while also competing in strong man and powerlifting competitions.

McPherson College Automotive Restoration Dedicates New Research Center on Campus

With a crowd of campus community members and industry partners looking on, McPherson College dedicated the Paul Russell and Company Center for Automotive Research on May 6, 2022. The research center, made possible through a generous gift from Richard and Melanie Lundquist, LHD, encompasses the entire south wing of Miller Library’s upper floor in a newly remodeled area.

2022 NHS welcomes new members

MCPHERSON – There are some things in life that are loved by some people and despised by others, which one of those things is school. Although the idea of school is one that has mixed feelings depending on who is asked, there is a select few that not only love school, but take it to the next level. For McPherson High School, those students can be found within the National Honor Society.
