Veteran Services Representative Outreach Visits

A Veteran Services Representative (VSR) from The Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs (KCVAO) Salina Field Office will be conducting regular visits to McPherson on March 8 to assist veterans and family members in applying for state and federal benefits. Some of the significant benefits available to veterans and family members are: Healthcare and prescription coverage for veterans and eligible dependents Compensation for service-connected medical conditions Pensions for non-service-connected disabilities Pensions for surviving spouses of veterans National Guard and Disabled Veterans Hunting/Fishing Licenses, and State Park Permits Military Distinctive License Plates Vietnam Medallions Home Loans Education Benefits Home Loans Burial Benefits Assistance obtaining DD Form 214 or medals The KCVAO VSR will be located at the McPherson Co.

Commodity Profitability For Farmers

“Grain prices are at near record levels so what should a farmer do?” There were no definite answers but opportunities were reviewed during a recent Farm Profit Seminar in Ottawa. Tom Leffler, representing Leffler Commodities LLC, reviewed past, present, future agriculture in his presentation titled “Now What Do You Do?” Acknowledging the speaker’s presentation was prior to Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine, Leffler did discuss possible ramifications of that action.

Kansas attorney general files bill banning sanctuary cities
