Foundation awards grant to support skating program

The Moundridge Community Foundation (MCF) awarded a $1,000 grant to the Moundridge Recreation Commission (MRC) in December to support its skating event for students of USD 423. This grant helped to provide students with the opportunity to engage in physical activity and develop their skating skills in a safe and supportive environment.This was the first year for the skating event for fourth through eighth grade students, which left organizers uncertain as to what to expect.

On Cloud Wine rescheduled

The third annual On Cloud Wine event at the McPherson Opera House has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. The evening is inspired by Margot Bogner and hosted by YP MAC, a young professional group, bringing together wine and whiskey enthusiasts for a night of tasting, live music, and charity.This event is open to everyone aged 21 and up.

County Commission meeting covers key updates

During a brief meeting on Monday, McPherson County Commissioners Tom Kueser and David O’Dell were officially sworn in by McPherson County Clerk Hollie Melroy.In the meeting, Commissioners approved the completion of the introductory period for Kevin Harvey, McPherson Public Works Mechanic.Commissioner Keith Becker was reappointed as Chairman of the Board of McPherson County Commissioners, while Commissioner David O’Dell was appointed as Vice-Chairman.Julie McClure, McPherson Emergency Communications, provided an update on the Windom radio tower, indicating that all towers should be operational within six weeks pending final approval.Hutton Construction informed the commissioners about the progress on the McPherson County Building remodeling project. Work began immediately after the commission meeting on Monday.
