MOUNDRIDGE, Kansas – One location played home to two more McPherson County state qualifiers Saturday night, as the Inman and Moundridge girls basketball teams won their respective sub-state championship games to qualify for next week’s class 2A state tournament. Last season, Inman and Moundridge’s seasons were ended by the same team – the Hillsboro Trojans.

INMAN, Kansas – Postseason basketball has officially arrived to McPherson County, and with it came a masterclass showing from class 2A’s No. 4 ranked Inman as the Lady Teutons handed Sedgwick a 62-18 loss in the opening round of sub-state Friday night.
Don’t look now, but a perennial powerhouse that walked out of the starting gates is starting to run towards the finish line as the McPherson High School girls basketball team is riding a three-game winning streak heading into postseason play.
The 2024-2025 McPherson High School boys basketball regular season came to a close Thursday night with a 16-point win over Winfield, but the real season begins now as the Bullpups have five seniors leading the way.
SALINA, Kansas – For the first time ever, a state champion was born from one of the founding schools of girls wrestling in Kansas as McPherson’s Ciara Rawson claimed the crown in the class 4A 235-pound weight class with a pin in the championship match. McPherson Girls: Rawson, a senior for McPherson, was one of seven different Lady Pup wrestlers that qualified for state.
