LINDSBORG, Kansas – The Smoky Valley High School boys and girls basketball teams entered Friday night’s matchup against Haven with an upset on their mind, but the Wildcats overwhelmed the Vikings and left the gym with two dominant victories.
STERLINGTON, La. — The Bulldogs finished up play in The Cajun Collision 3-1 as they took down the Dakota State Trojans in their first game of the day but dropped game two to Nelson University on Saturday (Feb. 8).
The McPherson High School wrestling team made its last regular season appearance inside of the Roundhouse last Thursday, February 6 as the Bullpups took on Winfield and Buhler in a pair of duals on senior night.
Following a fourth-place finish at the 30th annual Mid-America Classic two weeks ago, the McPherson High School girls basketball team followed it up by splitting a pair of matchups last week against Wichita Collegiate and Augusta.
The No. 2 team in class 4A needed the full 32 minutes to knock off the No. 1 team in class 3A last Tuesday, February 4 as the McPherson Bullpups staved off a Wichita Collegiate rally to defeat the Spartans 59-54.
In recent years, women’s flag football has experienced an unprecedented rise in Kansas, transforming the state’s sports landscape and providing young female athletes with new opportunities to showcase their skills. While traditionally dominated by male players, the sport is seeing increasing popularity among high school and college-aged women, spurred on by changing attitudes toward gender in sports, growing grassroots efforts, and greater institutional support.
HAYSVILLE, Kansas – Two meets in two days capped off the McPherson High School boys swim team’s regular season last week, as the Bullpups captured fourth place at Hutchinson and third place at Campus to gather momentum heading into the postseason.
