KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The end of the summer season has already arrived for the 18U McPherson Bullpups, but with it came a three-game winning streak to end the season as McPherson went 3-2 at last weekend’s PBR Super 18s tournament in Kansas City.
Four weekends ago, the annual anticipation for the McPherson County City Golf Tournament was settled on three different courses over three different days as McPherson native Jake Lackey successfully defended his title.
Two elite underclassmen from the McPherson High School baseball team will be representing the Bullpups next week in Enid, Oklahoma, as McPherson’s Carter Bengtson and Cade Strathman were selected to compete for team Kansas Select in the High Plains Shootout. The High Plains Shootout is a high school all-star series held at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in downtown Enid, Oklahoma.

WICHITA, Kansas – Less than a week after winning a championship over its younger counterpart, the 18U McPherson summer baseball team traveled to Wichita for its penultimate tournament of the summer where they ultimately ended with a top-four finish.
McPherson High School is proud to announce Stephanie Patterson as the new head coach of the Bullpup Softball Program. Coach Patterson brings a strong background as both a player and coach and was most recently a varsity assistant on the undefeated 2025 Bullpup team that captured the 4A State Championship.

CANTON, Kansas – For the third time this season the Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association held a weekend of events in Canton on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 and 29 McPherson County rodeo athletes participated in 28 events and earned 14 first-place finishes among 30 top-five placings. Beginning with the 0-1 Division, Galva’s Brody Wilson, and Wacey Boswell along with Canton’s Hayden Hogg earned a total of 14 top-five finishes through the weekend with Wilson earning a top-five finish five times while both Boswell and Hogg had four top-five placings.
