The annual Hooper Showcase summer baseball tournament at Grant Sports Complex produced an all-McPherson final last weekend, as the 18U Bullpups took down the 17U Bullpups to claim an undefeated crown.

WICHITA, Kansas – The Minnesota Twins’ double-A affiliate in Wichita, Kansas – the Wichita Wind Surge – played home to the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches (KABC) senior all-star game last Wednesday as four McPherson County players competed in the contest. This year’s edition of the KABC all-star game was held at Equity Bank Park, which was previously known as Riverfront Stadium.

Summer may be upon the Central Christian College of Kansas (CCCK), but something that has not been seen on the campus since 2021 has been gaining traction in the background as the cheerleading team is set to make a comeback.

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – For the McPherson 18U summer baseball team, it has been two tournaments in, two out-of-state road trips taken as the Bullpups came away with a 3-1 record at the Chad Wolff Classic in Arkansas.

A familiar name from a familiar university returned home Saturday morning to his original stomping grounds, as former standout McPherson Bullpup football player and current K-State Wildcat Cody Stufflebean hosted a youth football skills camp for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade. In an era of college athletics where the spotlight is on athletes 24/7 due to emergence of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), former McPherson graduate Stufflebean decided to step away from that spotlight and instead shine it on the local youth from his hometown.
