Director arrested for DUI

At about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, authorities were alerted to an impaired driver leaving Casey’s General Store in Moundridge.

Law Enforcement consequently arrested Will Moore, McPherson EMS Director and booked him into the McPherson County Jail. Authorities report that Moore was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and two counts of child endangerment in connection with the arrest.

The McPherson Sentinel reached out to Moore for comment.

Moore said, “At this time, I have no comment regarding the incident. However, I request privacy for my family and myself while we navigate the legal process.”

K.S.A. 8-1567 states a DUI is a class B, nonperson misdemeanor. The person convicted shall be sentenced to not less than 48 consecutive hours nor more than six months’ imprisonment, or in the court’s discretion 100 hours of public service and fined not less than $750 nor more than $1,000.

K.S.A. 21-5601 states that endangering a child is a class A person misdemeanor.

All persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
