Emporia, Kansas died

Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at his home. Leo was born January 21, 1940 in Hutchinson, Kansas the son of Jake and Justina (Wiens) Pauls. He was a professor and teacher for 45 years, 35 spent at Emporia State University. Leo has been retired for 15 years. He was a member of the Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church, International Reading Association, The Pigeon Association, Miniature Train Club and the

CAIRS Group. On December 26, 1964 Leo married Karen A. Graber in Freeman, South Dakota and he is survived by his wife of 57 years. Other survivors include sons Mark Pauls and wife Carol of Bloomfield, New Jersey, Eric Pauls and wife Kristy of Estes Park, Colorado, sisters Janice Tolmachoff of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jeanette Heineken (Hal) of Hutchinson, and grandchildren Braxton Pauls, Hayden Pauls and Quincey Pauls. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Roberts-Blue- Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church in Emporia. Pastor Garen Forsythe of the Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church and Pastor Rob Clausen of the First Baptist Church will be officiating. Interment will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the North Inman Cemetery in Inman, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian School in Hutchinson, Kansas and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
