MARCEL ROBERT TAJCHMAN

Marcel Robert Tajchman, 84, of McPherson,

KS. passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 at his residence.

Marcel was born in rural Marion, KS on June 2, 1938, a son of Frank Anton and Angela Millie (Stuchlik) Tajchman, the third born of 13 children. He attended the Youngtown District 61 Country School, and graduated from Marion High School Marion, Kansas in 1956. Through his employment and Hutchinson Junior College, Hutchinson, Kansas he took several courses to earn Qualifications for Plastic Engineering. He has lived in McPherson since 1961. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in McPherson. He was a member and 3rd Degree of the Knights of Columbus Council #5222, a past Grand Knight, President of the Parish Council, served on the St. Joseph’s Catholic School Board and served as president on the Building Committee and on the Parish Finance Committee, served as Usher, Eucharistic Minister and attended weekly Adoration all at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. Marcel was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Holub on September 16, 1961 at St. John’s Nep. Catholic Church, Pilsen, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, Brian, Michelle and Brad. Barbara died September 12, 2010. Marcel was then united in marriage to Marilyn Monk on June 13, 2014 in Wichita, Kansas. Marcel worked as Plant Manager at CertainTeed Corporation in McPherson and retired after 44 years. Through the years Marcel was the Director of Manufacturing and District Manager. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, being outdoors, was a certified Taxidermist, loved spending time with His siblings , children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their families, traveling, snow skiing, gardening, working in the yard, tinkering in his shop and dancing especially Polka’s. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Tajchman, of McPherson, KS.; his children, Brian Tajchman and his wife Cheri, of Abilene, KS., Michelle Lyle and her husband Mark, of Wichita, KS.; his siblings, Gerald Tajchman, of Monroe, Washington, David Tajchman and his wife Connie, of Texas, Frank Tajchman, of Marion, KS., Mark Tajchman and his wife Lori, of Marion, KS., Charles Tajchman and his wife Kay, of Marion, KS., Virginia Albert and her husband Roman, of Tulsa, OK., Carmelita Simon, of Canton, KS., Judy Smith and her husband Jay, of Marion, KS. and Lanell Hett and her husband Aaron, of Marion, KS. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Alan Tajchman and wife Chelsea, Sarah Wild and husband Rob, Jesse, Hannah, Seth, Abagail, and Danielle Lyle, Madison, Denton, Malary, and Dawson Tajchman; Four great- grandchildren, Jack Wild, Khayden Tajchman, Leo Wild and Hazel Tajchman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; his son, Brad; his brother, Thomas and his sister’s Rosalie and Georgene. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, McPherson, KS with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson, KS, with Fr. Ben Shockey officiating. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
