Karla Prickett of Salina will be the artist-in-residence Aug. 21 through Sept. 9 at the Red Barn Studio Museum, 212 S. Main St., Lindsborg.
During Prickett’s residency, she will be “working on mixed media on board or canvas while being inspired by inherited influences, art process experiences or observations and the desire to create.”
In addition to being an artist, Prickett is a visual arts resource and project consultant. She was the Visual Arts Director for the Smoky Hill River Festival from 1991-2014, and she has served as an arts juror for festivals and exhibitions across the United States.
Prickett currently volunteers on committees for the Salina Art Center, Salina, and the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg. Her other interests are visiting art galleries, playing golf, gardening and landscaping.
She has a bachelors degree in Education/Studio Arts from Fort Hays State University, Hays, and an associates degree from Cloud County Community College, Concordia.
