Celebrate Recovery to meet Tuesday
Celebrate Recovery will meet Tuesday evening at Countryside Covenant Church, 940 E. Northview, McPherson. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m., and a meeting follows at 6:30 p.m. Come for help with all life’s hurts, hangups and habits.
Happy Homemakers met
The Happy Homemakers Family and Community Education Unit met with 19 members and a guest at the home of LaVon and Linda Ediger for breakfast on Aug. 13.
Members who planned the event were Linda Ediger, chairman, Sig-Briyt Hughes, Wanda Waggoner and Lizetta Stout.
Fran Stucky, president, presided at the business meeting.
Members voted to donate $5 each to MacKids and Operation Warmth. Karen Spoon was voted for “Heart of FCE.” The unit voted to join the Hospital Auxiliary and continue to support the McPherson County Food Bank. Clarice Graves is now on the education committee.
It was voted to give a donation to the Galva Museum. Yearly dues will be collected in September.
The next meeting will be Sept. 19 at the home of Donna Smith.
Mac Historical Society to meet
The McPherson County Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sept. 3 at the McPherson Museum, 1111 E. Kansas Ave. in McPherson.
The program will be on the long forgotten, unincorporated settlements and communities of McPherson County. Included are Boggerville, Winnesheik and Dole’s Park.
Also available will be reprinted copies of Edna Nyquist’s book “Pioneer Life and Lore of McPherson County.” She was the historical society’s secretary in 1932.
