SEDGWICK — The start of the first and second halves were what fueled the Canton-Galva High School girls basketball team into the championship game of the Steve Shepherd Invitational.
The Eagles jumped on No. 1 seed Fairfield 11-5 in the first quarter, and then started the second half on a 19-7 run to secure a 49-36 win Thursday night in Sedgwick. Canton-Galva will take on Wichita Independent at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Kelli Nightingale and Emma Ruddle each scored 15 points while Brittany Nordstrom scored nine.
