ELYRIA — It was Tyler Thiessen and everyone else.

Thiessen scored 20 points for Elyria Christian School as the Eagles topped Herington 47-23 Friday night at home. Thiessen shot 10 of 17 from the field (59 percent) to go along with nine rebounds.

As a team, the Eagles outscored Herington 28-13 in the half, compared to 19-10 in the first half.

“We had a slow start which seems to be a theme of our team so far and something we’re trying to work through,” head coach Zach Goodrich said. “I thought we played solid defense and had a good team effort which led to our win.”

As a team, ECS shot 40 percent from the field and came up with 11 steals.
